HU was established in Hat Yai on April 9,1997. It was the first private college offering the bachelor's degree in Songkhla and lower Southern Thailand. It has been developed with a very strong and sound foundation Grandfather second councillor Dud and Grandmother Cheoy Disayasarin, and their successor, Ajarn Pradith Disayasarin founded Hat Yai Amnuayvith School the first private school in Hat Yai, in 1935. They have taken one profound and fine step at a time to form other instituations such as kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, vocational school, and now the university

       Ajarn Praneete Disayasarin, Ajarn Pradit's doughter, has always been in charge of every school's principal She has continued her father's determination bravely and patiently. Since then until now she still follows her father's footprints, producing intellentual assets. She realizes her social responsibility to develop human resources which is crucial for lower Southern Thailand's qrowth, especially the Triangle cooperative project of Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
